How to Write High-Quality Content That Makes The Reader Stay Longer

Quality is important, but what does quality really mean?

There is no one standard or we can say the quality of the content is related to the topic.

It still has to do with reader expectation.

I can ask ChatGPT to write near-perfect content for me about anything. Does that mean the quality is high?

Probably on paper, it would rank higher than all my writing for being well-rounded and summarizing an idea correctly.

As long as we are reading for another person to read, then there are a few key points that we need to meet their expectation, and then we can talk about quality.

Quality is actually the overall quality of your writing, it requires the reader to come back again to read your work.

What really matters more

Retention rate, email open rate, o)r some call it read ratio, can help you understand if your writing was what the reader is interested in.

They mean a little differently but are measuring something similar.

The read ratio is a direct understanding of whether the reader even stays for 30 seconds. (This is a good indicator of how well you present your work, not totally about quality)

It is more of an overall quality rating of:

• Headlines

• Topics

• Formatting

• Flow

• Style

• Storytelling

And many more little things that go into an article. (these are some of the bases)

When we think about high-quality content, we think of a writer who has written for a long time or a famous writer whom we hear others talk about.

However, from what I experience as a reader, I find that high quality does not pre-exist because they can’t assume every work will be above standard.

Sometimes we use how well an article is doing to say it is high quality, while that may be true in some areas, yet, high quality is more related to the consistency of how well you express the ideas.

Reading a viral article can help you improve

When I look at a viral article, I would go over the 5 points I mentioned.

You can see it as Wow, this must be a well-written article. That might be true, but every time I look, I would go find their most attractive points, which is often the weakest point of our writing.

When everyone is looking at the shiny star, I choose to find why this star shines this way and how I can make improvements for myself to shine a little brighter each day.

For some, it might be grammar or how they say something in a different way.

It should have feelings in each thought for the reader to stay longer.
