I Gained 300 Subscribers On Substack in 2 Days
Well, technically I imported them from Medium.
Is it normal to get over 100 views on the first day?
One thing I’m trying to do is cross-post but not directly using the same exact content but rather trying to connect them in a way.
I’m probably doing it wrong but I don’t go the traditional route.
But if you are on Substack thinking the other way around, we could exchange thoughts on this.
My goal for the month or by the end of the year is to study the synergy between the two after all I am going to be working on them both.
There might not be one or burnout is the end result but let’s give it some time and we’ll find out by soon.
Many part of this article was just posted on Medium as well to seek for feedback as I’m looking here as well.
Below are the views I gained in 2 days. So far I’m not so sure where they came from or what counts as a view. But it's good to know that there are eyeballs over there.
I know many are sitting on the sideline or in fact while importing the email list from Medium I see many have already tried substack before and eventually fall off for whatever reasons.
So what are you still here and what is your goal?
To read, learn, or create your own one-person business?
Of course, I need your feedback more than anything right now.
From the detailed traffic sources, you can see that only 6 views came from Medium. But I’m glad to see many familiar faces that came and said hi and supported.
By the way, the 100 views came before I imported the 300s emails from Medium.
Maybe it’s just bots scanning my new account. Or are there really that many active accounts here on Substack?
We’ll find that out very soon as I’m trying to input a limited amount of time here since this is the side hustle of my side hustle.
But I do have high hopes that it will grow faster than I expected.
For the most part, not many know me here so it is almost like a fresh start until I start talking about Medium.
My goal is to bring writers to or from Medium to Substack, it sounds a bit impossible since I know everyone is attached to their platforms.
But change is the only way out.
Hey Bin! Nice to see you here on Substack. Congrats on already getting 300 subscribers!
Bin
That is so awesome! It shows your personal rapport and goodwill with your readers and followers, which is something many of us struggle with. It's good to have a good community here as well. I stopped posting on Substack because most people only DMed me garbage, and with free content, nobody values it. I will look for subscription-based articles and publications here.
Change is not always easy, but we've to adapt. You've adapted so effortlessly. 💫🤍
