Medium Earnings Report For January 2025

My stats broke all records with the highest read ratio

18.6K/27K = 68.88% Read Ratio (new record)

83 Articles Written (4 more than Dec.)

EPR = $0.01298 (down 82.45%), was $0.074 for Dec.

The earnings are inproveming as the reads are going down the EPR is raising.

News and Trends

From the chart above we can see that Medium took about 2 weeks to increase the earnings a little bit and later in the month increase some more while letting the traffic drop to a similar range from January 1–6.

I know making 2 cents a read is nothing compared to what it used to be but we have to move forward and have no more time to waste as we have been stuck in this phase for too long now.

We will know if it improves as soon as February earnings kicks in.

Process and Tips

Since things have changed the process and strategy need to be adjusted too.

If any article doesn’t move cut loose quickly if you have time and write a new one. I would make sure the topics, length, and formatting are up to par or what the reader likes to read.

• Topics are not about what you are going to write about but selecting what topics/tags to put under each article is just as important, you really have to test a couple to understand what works for you.

• The length of an article might seem unimportant but it is a main factor if someone going to have the time to read it, most of the time we have a habit of reading shorter articles.

• Formatting I say is the most underrated part as reading is an experience of words with meanings, some can use their words alone to impact your vibes but others might to the help of formatting to make it easier to read, don’t try to over format it.

Writing skills are important but we have to get the basics straighten first. These are the parts that we can do and improve right away.

My earnings per day have fallen from $24.18 to $7.79

Monthly earnings breakdown:

• Top 3–5 post — 13.4% ($32.45)

• Remaining articles from Dec. — 53.8% ($130.16) (80 articles)

• All other articles — 11.0% ($26.68) (from previous months)

My overall earnings are down 67.77% ouch.

Once again we hope it improves for February.

January has finally ended, I know to many it is a relief as not even those that have been here for over 5 years have seen this kind of dilemma with the earnings not being able to return back to normal or even close.
