My Medium Stats and Earnings — Last Week of May (Let’s do this)
Happy that I’m slowing down
Family, work during the day, and writing at night or whenever I can.
Overall read ratio drop about 1% to 58%.
The past 7 days, I have written 10 articles, which is the lowest number of articles I have published within a week for a very long time.
You can see the effect in the stats of how it slowly drops day by day.
I have also spent a lot less time on Medium, yet I take my time to write the article. Usually, the 2nd article of the day is less intense and more of a quick review of an idea.
The entire article might flow better due to how quickly and focused the article was written. (55-minute train ride for me to publish some articles for others and write an article at the same time on the train)
An hour before that, I’m pushing my kid to school. And 5 hours before that, I’m writing my nighttime article like this one.
Yet, on the weekend, the schedule is always a little different, depending on what we have planned in the family.
There is always something going on when you have kids.
I’m still growing, added 74 followers, and 32 email subscribers
I have looked over those who recently followed, and the ones who left their email visible are the ones that likely to come back again to read us.
When you have over 100+ new subscribers and see half of the readers who engage are those you already know, that means 2 things.
Your connection and your consistency play a large role here.
This is how some writers who have achieved both of them take a break and somehow resume where they left off.
Of course, they have to rebuild a little more in the beginning to let everyone know they are break.
Best performing article of this week
Most of my articles are now getting about 50 reads besides anything about Medium or an earnings and stats review like this one.
The headline is by far the most important part of your article, as you can see from the number of views it got.
The read ratio was a bit below average, which doesn’t really affect the earnings that much, as most of my earnings per read are around $0.03.
7 days went by I made around $40+ more
$170.35/5,960 = $0.02858 EPR
This is a lot lower than the week before. The current earnings are about $4 to 6 a day. If I keep this rate, I can still make $200 a month.
This month will be very close for me to fall out the this mark, and likely next month I’ll be in the $100s club if I don’t have any viral articles.
Something like this will always be worth writing as long as there are readings coming, the last one had 197 readers came and 132 read them.
