Substack Latest Feature Stats Update September 2025 — Growth Sources
Yes, I’m late on this because I need data plus experience
I have been on Substack for almost 10 months. My growth is not stunning, but consistent. I think I can say that.
To me, and I think to many, this is a far more important metric than ever getting how many views is the unique visitors stats.
In the past, I have wondered how many times I have looked at my own post, and it does count as a view.
This can really be misleading because you’ll always be your #1 visitor for the most part, and that’s okay; we all do that all the time.
It’s a sign of self-love and care, maybe a little obsession, too.
Take an example:
I think there’s something interesting about these stats; they measure the daily visitors per article. Which might look cool, but I’m not sure it’s a bit unrealistic, as what about the visitors for the article from the day before?
Yes, that’s what happens when I go dig into the numbers and reasoning.
While this is still a new feature, so anything that does not make sense to me might be just me not understanding.
This reminds me of the Chrome extension from a Medium writer listing out all the earnings per day, which also represents or is calculated based on numbers of reads it get per day.
Maybe the article listed below on the Substack page is just a reference to what was posted, since I publish daily, so I will not be able to confirm that. I guess it was my problem.
If it can list out all the views per article, that would be dope as well.
From this update alone, we can see how Substack is trying to support the writers when tools and insights that the writer can actually monitor and use.
One thing I would like to see is that the stats for Substack notes can all be in one place, so I can go there and see what progress and improvements I can make.
Self promotion
When away for 5 minutes to create a Gumroad product so I can put it here.
Substack Viral Note Tips (Good for 30 Days) — This is where I work with you and your Substack account for a month. On the 29th day, you can still ask for a refund, but my heart may freeze for a split second.
I valued it at $100, but if you don’t believe it, I cut the price by 90% just like my earnings on Medium. This article is Substack-focused.
I don’t really like to spend too much time writing about something that may or may not work at random times.
So I prefer to work with someone directly via text messaging and screenshots, of course, after all, I’m an introvert who wears many hats that don’t fit well.
Glad I’m not a growth hack expert
It would be a shame to show this kind of growth in subscribers. Or maybe that’s why I don’t see many who have shown it yet.
You see, I know how to grow on Substack. Don’t be fooled by my numbers.
95% of them are from Substack, the app, I assume.
Sometimes people ask me does Substack has internal traffic. There you go.
While this is Substack’s latest stats feature update, I can still plug in some of my other stats to prove the point.
This is the 2nd most important chart
Let me tell you why, you see that I don’t grow much in subscribers, and my unique visitors are about 200s daily, with some ups and downs.
Look and listen carefully, what we see here is not just the total traffic. But what you’re witnessing is the relation to how I’m able to gain retention.
From the visitor stats, we can say that everyone has at least come to look at my post twice a day, same post or not. The number is telling the truth. Even if you misclick, it was recorded here.
Perfect time for ads
Now, would it be appropriate to introduce my not-so-bright but effective Gumroad growth article for you to look at?
Grow Your Substack Account 0–100+ Subscribers Genuinely, not my style, but I do enjoy seeing all the views that are coming in.
I really need to create more products and effectively write about them.
Many gurus have shown me on the internet, but I just can’t eat it yet.
The other day, I was looking for a content writer job at LinkedIn, but I thought to myself, what if I have something to sell, too?
Like 9 out of 10 times, I’ll be writing about some products or services that I may or may not work on at times; doesn’t that sound a lot like my writing/growth tips?
My refund policy would likely be the CTA, no question asked, 30–60 refund, as long as your credit card company can still take in the funds.
I can even extend to Walmart’s style of 90 days for store-brand products.
I hope you don’t need an extended warranty. You can always exchange it for something else if I have anything.
Well, these are old revenue, but I guess I haven’t had any since 8/16/2025, so it could be called new money.
To wrap this one up, I have to be quick.
The end.
Thanks for Reading
This will be the first time that an article is being published on Sustack. If you want to come say hi on [Medium], that is fine, too. Going forward, I might publish a bit less if my post is doing well.
