Did I Just Got Suspended By Medium After Sharing This Article? Okay, Medium Crashed for a couple minutes.
My Emails with Medium May Shock You
Now we can continue with the story.
I can't believe what I read - suspended article with no resolution
Context: On January 21st one of my articles was suspended for calling out a rule breaker that published 4 of the same article in 4 different publications and that article was not even theirs but plagiarized. The articles was suspended within 6 hours of it being publish and gain 2.6K claps and 400+ reads.
My question to Medium is what do you want me to do, to unsuspend or delete?
Based on the rules and what was said in the original email, it should be resolved or at least tell me something to move forward with, instead I’m left on my own to figure out.
So on January 23rd, I emailed Medium once more to see what was going on and what they wanted me to do, can’t just leave it hanging there.
I emailed:
A couple of hours later I received my first response from Medium.
It says I am targeting people in my post, several times and wants to let me know that I am creating a bad environment by calling out a spammer that plagiarized and now I am the rule breaker for sharing their profile, which will impact innocent and real people.
Prove to me that is a real people when you do not even have an ID checker. This is related because it ties directly to everyone on Medium and their hard-earned effort of showing up and trying to make their own phase of progress here.
Here is the problem and why the article is not allowed to go free even if I edit it, this is no longer about spammer or rule breakers anymore, it’s Medium and its writer in general.
So now I need to email every piece of spammer that I encounter before I write anything about it, Are you sure you can handle the email rate if this message is to go public?
Because there are that many spammers still out there, why can’t you get your duty straight? By the time Medium steps in a bunch of readers have already wasted their time unaware read from spammer and AI content creators.
And I know I can write anything else if Medium can kick the right spammer and fix whatever needs to be fixed. (do you still owe a public announcement on earnings?)
I need to up my satire storytelling ability for me to make write about spammer more positive than it can be.
Do you see anyone in the email talking about the original question of what I need to do with that suspended article? I mean the story will not likely get any traffic even if it was unsuspended.
So why do I need to bother them?
It’s about what a writer can write when facing this kind of situation.
Now let’s let Medium answer some questions.
As long as I don’t break the rules, I can tell any story, fair enough.
I had to make them say it, you can write about Medium-related issues.
Stick to the system of Medium and not focus on callouts of any kind basically if I understand that correctly, no names or accounts.
Who is targeting me, well I did send them a link so they didn’t bother to read it, which is why they are asking me to explain and share the link, well I gave you the link in the last email.
Regarding negative stories is a direct question about their reasoning on vigilantism, if telling the truth is that then, no one is allowed to say anything but the fake stuff.
And my last reply to them on January 23rd was:
There are no final words as everything is in the writing.
I would say writing on Medium is not going to be easy moving forward, despite the earning issue, there is a whole wave of policy issues in the background you are about to find out one by one from your fellow writers.
This article is to let everyone know what is Medium looking for and their expectation from you as a writer who writes on Medium regardless of what topic you write about.
Every time I think about sharing this, I do feel farewell is near as Medium states it is okay to write about Medium and its related issues.
But who knows what will happen?
Thanks for Reading

Your support is always appreciated even if you are a free subscriber.
I can't log on to the site at the moment Bin so I think may have crashed. Have to say I am half expecting them to pull the plug given the recent state of the platform but more likely it is another glitch! Hope you are restored soon. I was just about to comment on your article. It's a really good one as usual though I can see their point - they don't want the site degenerating into accusations and arguments and want to deal with things themselves via the reporting mechanism. That said, they could resolve many of their issues if they had proper ID checks on new and existing users.
Medium is down. Are you facing the same issue?
