Medium isn't active when comes to explaining us what's going on

But they are very well active when it comes to us, finding the scammers for them !!!!

They need to become better, else Medium isn't gonna last that longer

There is a limit to everything and when it is crossed, losses are doom to occur

They want to clean everything first.

I’m seeing the largest wave of shift out of Medium if they can’t even get the earnings right as that is their main attractive part of their business model.

Thanks for sharing your sad experience. The same thing happened to me in 2020. I wrote about a bad situation and did not even mention the name of the person, but the story was delisted when it went viral. Then a person made an alleged claim, and Medium suspended my account at the time without any warning, and my publication Illumination shut down for 24 hours panicking community. It was recovered after a day as there was nothing wrong with my approach,h but it was a very painful experience. I wish you the best in your writing journey.

Thanks for stopping by it does mean a lot.

I think it has problem with anyone going too viral for something not so bright on their end.

Talking about the rule breaker while the system can’t even tell the difference of copying from someone else and then duplicating the same article 4 times without being stop for more than a day after someone reported for plagiarism.

I guess to save some face they had to stop it as it has been the most viral articles I have ever seen. 2k claps in 2 hour with 400+ read in less than than 5 hours, which is why they need suspend it.

But there goes the earning to these accounts that are still out there.

I can't wrap my head around this. The management team on that platform seems to grow more disconnected daily. A report of plagiarism should be top priority, not an opportunity to punish the messenger, am I right? I'm interested in knowing the outcome of your suspension.

Well, I’m not suspended yet but my article is and going back and forward with them in the email and just not giving me a say on that article but keep tell me to not do this and follow rules etc.

Like I said don’t go after the message when their employee publish article about suspension of spammer that caused the low earnings while CEO is there saying the pay rate has been the same…

I say please stop time traveling and come back and fix this thing.

After everything you've put into the space Sir, i doubt they would suspend your account sir. Also, it's understandable if you want to decrease you input into the space. They are becoming something new all don't recognize anymore.

Ral, they will suspend and they do without rhyme or reason, without explanations, without warning. Don't ever doubt it and back up your work.

The medium should send the warning; how does one know the reason behind it? We all are humans prone to make mistakes, and the medium has the specific one mail carry all the reasons—but obviously, how is it necessary that one do that violation?

That one article really has to do with how Medium’s system was not able to catch one account posting the exact same article in 4 different publications and it was copied off of another author.

It’s about protecting the system incompetence.

Sorry to heard that but I think they are allowing you to rejoin if you follow the rules but that is just words on paper, not 100% sure what is going to happen.

They do suspend by mistakes.

I feel Medium is going to fail as Squidoo did. There needs to be changes or it's not looking good for the future of the site.

I'd never have to worry about that because Medium doesn't even distribute my articles. When I complained about it, they poked the system to give me one fake read and view on each article, and never responded. I continue to have no views, which means, no distribution occurred.

At this point, Medium is a lie as I can tell, everything they say is right in their welcome email and PR, but ignorance and incompetence is baked into their system.

I think they don't even know what I am writing about or never looked.

What was the reason? Did they send an email with an explanation?

Some reason given but after editing the article no further response was given so had to delete to keep the account safe.

Medium has their favorites, and they are very fast to boot off anyone who doesn’t suit them. They also think they’re gods, refuse to listen to your side of the story and make decisions without having all the information available. It took me four years to build up 2000 followers on Medium, and because of a misunderstanding with Adrianne Gibbs, who decided to change the time of my presentation for Medium Day to publicize my new publication without telling me until the last possible minute, I was booted off the site after opening my mouth. Granted, I was rude, but I did apologize several times and my account was deleted. Four years of work down the toilet.

I will never recommend them to anyone else to read, nor will I ever read anything published on their site again.

It’s their loss. And it’s their mistake. Just shows they don’t give a shit about the little writers; like I said, they only care about their favorites, who, according to articles, earned hundreds of dollars a month while little writers like me would earn maybe enough to buy a pack of cigarettes.

That’s not to say I don’t have any talent. I am actually quite talented when it comes to writing. I just haven’t been discovered or people just don’t like what I published. Well, that’s one less person for them to pay.

It’s not like they care about how their actions negatively impacted my life.

My Medium account got suspended 4 times. Every time, the Medium help team said it was wrongly caught in the spam filter, but each time it happened, my earnings dropped, and my stats took weeks to recover. So frustrating. Sorry, this happened to you. Substack is a great place to be :)

I am quite surprised at this article. I joined Substack on Monday and published five articles.

From my stats, no one has gone to these articles.

I know other Medium writers are cross-posting between the two forums.

Medium has not given me any indication that they are disciplining me. Same for Substack. First I heard was this article.

I don't get much traction from Medium readers. I am a bottom writer.

If a nefarious actor set up an account in my name, he/she picked the wrong person to copy.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm not that good at growing on Substack but it does appear that many Medium writers are here due to the issue of low earnings and lack of communication from Medium about the issue.

But did tell us spammers are causing all the low earnings yet when I write about that, the article gets ding due to it going too viral for pointing out bad actors but also reflecting the flaws of their system, so it will remain suspended.

All the readers came due to this issue or from the year of building relationships with the writers and community there.

I think I figured out what happened. SS auto-filled my email address on the subscribe button. I thought something nefarious was happening.

From what I could gather, bots were infiltrating Medium and were clapping and responding to each other, then the Medium algos were giving the bots more feed exposure. Money was being siphoned from real subscribers to the bots. Not sure, but seems plausible.

Not much difference for this bottom writer. I'm here on SS to park articles on my alternative democracy. I'm not expecting results here either.

I do recall your name from the Medium feeds, but not much else.
